Hello and welcome to beautiful Anniversary Idea Blog.

Parents 20th anniversary party ideas?

I want to give my parents a wedding anniversary this coming year. It isn't for another year, so I have plenty of time. My sister and I are still minors and we don't have a lot of money. Is there any way that we can look to other family members (aunts/uncles, grandma) for financial support in planning this? It could definitely be in our home and there would probably be 25-50 guests. It would be a surprise party.

Any theme ideas, food ideas, entertainment ideas? Thanks!

Asking others to pay for a party is TACKY!

for the food and drink….have the guests bring stuff,,,,enough for 10 servings……………same with drinks………..
If you want more then that from your relatives, get a part time job to show them you are trying…….

Maybe theme it on the year they were married. Research the top 40 songs of 1988 and go from there. Put a collage of photos together of them as a dating couple, just married and when you and your sibling were born(using copies of course). Maybe get their old friends to write a memory they have of them as a couple and put in a book and give it to them.

There is no reason you should not ask an aunt to help you plan the party. Do explain what it is you and your sister would like to do. Don't let anyone "take over," however. You are the children and your wishes for the party come first. Tactfully ask your aunt if she and other family members can make a dish to bring. Serve the food buffet style and make punch so you don't have to be running in and out of the kitchen. Have sodas in the refrigerator so that the guests can help themselves, and you and your sister can concentrate on the cake and entertainment. A good stereo and some oldies ought to do the trick. Ask an adult to buy the ingredients for the anniversary punch—and don't have more than a glass, sweetie. lol On second thought, I will include a non-alcoholic recipe as well. (Be sure to have enough punch ready for all of the guests to make a toast to your parents. Cover with plastic wrap if necessary to keep the guests from drinking it beforehand!)

Champagne Punch

6 Orange, sliced
6 Lemon, sliced
6 Lime, sliced
1 Pineapple, chunks
1/2 bag crushed Ice
Strawberries

Mix sugar, brandy and 5 bottles champagne in a punch bowl. Then stir in orange, lemon and lime sliced thin into rounds, pineapple chunks and ice. Stir until well mixed. To complete, garnish with strawberries and pour a final bottle of champagne theatrically over the top.

Malihini Punch – Non-Alcoholic

2 qt Orange juice
1/2 cup Hawaiian Plantations Lilikoi Passion fruit syrup
1/2 cup Hawaiian Plantations Guava syrup
Ice cubes

Combine orange juice, lilikoi syrup and guava syrup, blend well. Chill. Serve over ice cubes.

Tell your parents, Happy 50th!

Okay I would do as a couple other's have said and ask your aunts and uncles and family members to help you with the food and drinks. But My parents just had their 25th anniversary and for a present me and my sister go together and made them a DVD on their life together. It starts out with their wedding pictures and then goes to my brother and then me and then my sister being born and then my brother's getting married and then the grandchildren. We just went through all of my mom's pics and picked out the best ones and scanned them onto the computer after we got them all scanned and put in the order that we wanted them we went and downloaded a bunch of my parents Favorite music and put it with the pictures and burnt it to a DVD. It was fun and time consuming but I will never forget the look on their faces when they saw it for the first time!!! My mom cried and Dad (who's a tuff guy) got a little choked up at times!
